Roof Maxx 5-Year Flexibility Warranty
What’s Covered
Shingle flexibility for 5 years following treatment; if treated shingles lose proper operating flexibility per the Standardized Flexibility Test, your Certified Roof Maxx Dealer will re-treat affected areas on a prorated basis
Fully transferable to new owners; remains valid even if the home is sold during the warranty period
Remains valid even if your original manufacturer's shingle warranty has expired or been voided due to time or transfer restrictions
Warranty is issued within 24 hours of treatment completion
How re-treatment works
If treated shingles lose flexibility within the 60-month warranty period, your Certified Roof Maxx Dealer will re-treat affected areas on a prorated basis. Earlier claims within the period receive a higher proportion of coverage. Proration is calculated over the 60-month period; earlier claims receive a higher proportion of coverage. To file a Roof Maxx warranty claim: Contact Roof Maxx Technologies directly at roofmaxx.com. Keep a copy of your warranty document, which we provide at treatment completion.

Frequently Asked Questions About Warranty Coverage
Straight answers to the questions homeowners ask us most about roofing and skylight warranties.
What’s the difference between a workmanship warranty and a manufacturer's warranty?
A workmanship warranty (also called a labor or contractor warranty) covers the quality of the installation itself. If a leak develops because of how we installed the flashing, that’s a workmanship issue. A manufacturer’s warranty covers defects in the materials. For example, if shingles crack prematurely due to a production defect, that’s a manufacturer’s issue.
What happens to my warranty if I sell my home?
Most manufacturer warranties are transferable to new owners. Malarkey’s Limited Lifetime Warranty transfers to subsequent owners, though the coverage terms shift slightly, and new owners must notify Malarkey’s Warranty Services Department in writing within 60 days of title transfer. Roof Maxx’s 5-year warranty is fully transferable at any point. Velux warranties are also transferable. A transferable roof warranty is a genuine selling point when your home goes on the market.
Does Roof Maxx void my existing shingle warranty?
No. Roof Maxx’s treatment does not void your existing manufacturer’s shingle warranty. In fact, the Roof Maxx 5-year warranty remains valid even if your manufacturer’s warranty has already expired or been voided for other reasons. It’s a separate, standalone warranty specifically for shingle flexibility, the leading cause of roof failure on aging asphalt roofs.
What if a warranty claim is denied?
If a manufacturer denies a warranty claim, we’ll help you understand why and what options are available. In some cases, documentation of proper installation (which we provide) can support an appeal. If the issue turns out to be workmanship-related rather than a product defect, we’ll address it under our own warranty. We won’t leave you without a path forward.
Do I need to do anything to keep my warranty valid?
Most manufacturer warranties require that the roof be properly maintained, including regular inspections, keeping gutters clear, preventing debris from accumulating, and ensuring any damage is addressed promptly. Malarkey’s warranty, for example, requires that shingles be installed according to their published guidelines and that the home remain a primary residence for lifetime coverage. We recommend an annual roof inspection, especially on roofs over 10 years old, to catch any issues early and keep your warranty documentation current.
